So, saving time on things you have to do which allows you to spend more time doing what you WANT to do can be a really healthy and satisfying thing to do.
We try to spend be careful of where we are spending our time so that we can focus on the things we enjoy. Sometimes, this means saving money so that we can work less on things we don’t love and more on things we do – like growing and caring for our homestead.
Frugal living can also be about your resources. Resources can really mean so many things! This could be about making wise investments to ensure a more stable financial future. You could invest in resources that allow you to make an income during retirement.
You can make sure you are establishing resources so that you will have a self-sustaining future like homesteaders do. Planting your own garden to save on produce, having your own goats or cows for your own dairy products, raising your own chickens for meat or eggs.
Resources can also be about things you need. So, stocking up on everyday items through couponing– toiletries, personal care items. Or stocking up on food using food preservation techniques like canning, dehydrating and freezing.
As you can see, the answer to the question what is frugal living is not simple. Frugal living can be so much more than just saving money.
