Chickens & Pullets for Sale in Virginia

Pullets for Sale in Virginia - Rhode Island Reds & Easter Eggers

Every year we offer a limited quantity of pullets or laying hens for sale.  What we call our "pullet growouts" are raised here on our farm until they are 7 - 8 weeks old.  What this means for you?  You get guaranteed females or pullets that are ready to go straight outside to their new coop -- you don't have to brood them inside or mess with heat lamps.

We typically offer two breeds as pullet growouts - Rhode Island Reds and Easter Eggers.  Both breeds are good foragers (this means less feed cost for you if they are going to free range) and good layers of medium to large sized eggs.

Rhode Island Reds tend to lay slightly larger eggs that are brown.  Rhode Island Reds tend to start laying a bit earlier than Easter Eggers do.  Easter Eggers tend to lay a more medium sized egg that can be blue, green, light pink or brown.  Easter Eggers are cold hardy and come in all different colors.multi-colored eating eggs

Each pullet is $15 and we ask for a 50% deposit to hold your reservation.  Reservations on these ladies go fast, so if you are interested, make sure to move quickly.  You can email us  for more information.  Or, you can make your deposit at our store page.

When it is time for your new pullets to go home to you, we arrange a pick up time and place near the farm in Moneta, Va.  If you live a bit further away and do not want to make the drive, we do offer a delivery option for a gas fee - send us an email for a delivery quote.

(Please note:  sexing can have a 10% error rate, although by 8 weeks old, we can usually also visually tell if they are pullets or roosters.  While (to date) we have never had a pullet go to their new home and end up being a rooster, if your pullet ends up being a rooster, we are happy to provide a refund.)

Chickens for Sale - Silkies, French Black Copper Marans, Chocolate Cuckoo Orpingtons

In addition to our pullets for sale, we breed three kinds of chickens for sale here on the farm.  We hatch almost year round with hatches weekly.  We sell these chicks as day old and straight run.  So they could be boys or girls and will need heat lamps and brooders.

We offer nationwide shipping for day old chicks in addition to pick up and delivery options.  If you are close by, we are happy to arrange a pick up time and place near the farm in the Moneta/Roanoke area.  If you live a bit further away, but don't want to ship chicks, we do offer a delivery option for a gas fee - send us an email for a delivery quote.

Day old chicks that we are hatching weekly:
    Partridge Silkies
    Porcelain Silkies
    Chocolate Cuckoo Orpingtons
    French Black Copper Marans
    Paint Silkies
    Crele Silkies
    Mottled Silkies
    Red Pyle Silkies
