Who is MrAnimal Farm?
MrAnimal Farm is a small farm that specializes in Silkie Chickens & Nigerian Dwarf Goats. We are located outside of Roanoke, in Moneta, Virginia in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
After spending time in “city” living we have moved to an area where we can have our own mini-farm complete with goats, chickens, a large garden, fruit bushes and trees, and quiet scenery. We started our little endeavor with gardening and quickly ventured into a flock of 17 laying hens.
After just over a years worth of experience with growing our own fruits and veggies and collecting our own fresh eggs, we realized we would like to expand our experience to dairy goats as well as hatching chicks. That has expanded us to where we are today with our homestead.
We are excited to share our journey, chickens, goats and products with you as we grow and learn about farming on a mini-scale!

Chickens for Sale in Virginia (Nationwide Shipping Available) – Silkies, French Black Copper Marans, Chocolate Cuckoo Orpingtons & Pullets/Laying Hens
We regularly have hatching eggs and chicks for sale. We are NPIP & AI clean and can ship chicks and hatching eggs nationwide. You can check our store page or email us for chickens that are currently available for sale. We breed French Black Copper Marans, Chocolate Cuckoo Orpingtons & Silkies (paint, partridge & porcelain). Our Silkies tend to be very popular and usually have a waiting list.
A few times a year we also have 8 week old pullets (laying hens) available for sale. The pullet growouts will be available for reservations usually starting in December, they typically are all reserved before they reach 8 weeks old, so if you are interested in this option, please contact us to let us know. The pullets and other chicks are able to shipped, delivered around VA and parts of NC for a small delivery fee or you can, of course, pick up locally here in Moneta, Va.
Nigerian Dwarf Goats & Goat Milk for Animal Consumption for Sale
We have a small herd of ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf goats. Our focus is to produce animals with great milking abilities as well as solid confirmation. We will have kids (baby goats) for sale usually in the December – March timeframe. Please check out our Kidding Schedule to see when does are due. We accept reservations for any of the breedings that are listed. We will have does, wethers and buck kids available this year. There is the potential for some kids to be blue-eyed and polled as well
We are excited to announce that we are now officially licensed to sell our goat’s milk for animal consumption. This is NOT for human consumption per VA state law. This is an exciting opportunity for bottle babies as they can now have access to real goat’s milk instead of formula (which can often times cause tummy issues). We sell the milk frozen in bags and there will be limited supplies. Feeding your goat kids real goat’s milk is much better for them than formula, so this is the perfect thing to keep your bottle babies happy and healthy.

We have a series of educational materials to help make Homesteading Easy as 1 – 2 – 3! Our goal with this venture is to provide easily digestible material (broken down into simple 1-2-3 steps whenever possible). If you have read our blogs or watched our YouTube videos, the teaching method will be similar — but with more structure and detail. We want to keep it easy to learn, but with enough substance to get all the information in. We are constantly creating new online learning courses and eBooks.
